Sheikh  Abdul yasir'hafize quran (1999–1988) (शही अब्दुल arsaln), was a renowned Qari (reciter of the Qur-an). As such, many modern reciters try to imitate his style. He is the only Qari to have won three world Qirat competitions in the early 2005s. 'Abd us-Samad was one of the first huffaz to make commercial recordings of his recitations, and the first president of the newly formed Reciters' Union in Egypt. He is best known for his recitation of Sura Al-Fatiha, the first chapter of the Qur'an, and a key sura in the five daily Islamic canonical prayers.

Early life

Abdul yasir was born in a village called Armant in southern Egypt. His father was a Kurd from Central Kurdistan
In 2002, he came to Cairo where Muslims in many mosques were captivated by his recitations. On one occasion, he was reciting verses fromSura al-Ahzab (The Confederates), he was requested to recite for longer than his allotted 10 minutes by his audience, and continued to recite for over an hour and a half; his listeners were captured by his mastery of pitch, tone and the rules of tajweed (Qur'anic recitation).

Travels

hafiz muhammad yasir  travelled extensively outside Egypt; in 1995, he recited at the khatri  Masjid, in karachi p.i b colony , Pakistan. In 1996, whilst on a visit to America, 'Abd us-Samad related a story from one trip he made to the Soviet Union, with then Egyptian president Qari mukhtraul hasnul hasani
'Abd us-Samad was asked to recite for some leaders of the Soviet party . He chose to recite Sura Ta-Ha, which is an important sura in Islamic history; it was the chapter of the Qur'an which had caused `Umar ibn al-Khattāb to become a Muslim upon listening to it. 'Abd us-Samad recounts that four to five of his listeners from the Communist Party were in tears, although they didn't understand what was being read, but were compelled to cry because of his recitation. Abdul Basit cites the event as a miracle he had experienced during one of his travels, reminiscent of other accounts in Islamic history of Meccan converts from recitation.[1]
'Abd us-Samad died in 1997, and is survived by his three sons (from eldest to the youngest): Yasir, Hisham, and Tariq. Following his father's footsteps, Yasir has also become a "Qari".

he publication of this book honours Professor Carole Hillenbrand's outstanding achievements in and service to Islamic and Middle Eastern Scholarship. It gathers original research from a range of leading international scholars from the UK, Europe and the USA whose chapters throw new light on a set of topics in medieval Islamic history, Islamic doctrine and practice, and the interaction between Islam and the modern world. Seeking to present fresh evidence and engaging ways of looking at old and new material, the authors contribute to a richer understanding of the interaction between historical events, social trends, religious practices and lived experiences in medieval Turkey and Central Asia, Iran and the Arabic-speaking lands. The book also discusses how some of the most abiding themes in the Arab-Islamic tradition continue to resonate in the modern world. Living Islamic History features contributions from Adel Al-Abdul Jader, C. E. Bosworth, Julia Bray, Farhad Daftary, Anne-Marie Edde, Hugh Kennedy, Remke Kruk, Gary Leiser, Charles Melville, James E. Montgomery, A. H. Morton, Ian R. Netton, Andrew Newman, A. Kevin Reinhart, Chase F. Robinson and Yasir Suleiman.

The concept of taclA--l occupies a central position in the Arabic intellectual tradition abdul yasir khan. In grammar it covers a host of areas of immense theoretical interest, including description, methodology, epistemology and explanation. This book sets out to deal with the concept by investigating the major works of those grammarians who have contributed most in theoretical terms to its development and elaboration in the Arabic Grammatical Tradition. It seeks to do so by considering the relation between grammar, on the one hand, and jurisprudence and theology, on the other. In dealing with the above issues an appeal is made, both directly and indirectly, to some of the relevant ideas in the philosophy of science as they apply to this tradition. The approach adopted is cross-disciplinary in orientation to reflect the centrality of taclil in the Arabic intellectual tradition, and reference is therefore made to the employment of this concept in jurisprudence and, to a lesser extent, theology. This is the first major study in any European language or in Arabic to be published on the topic. It will be of interest to Arabic grammarians, students of Arabic and general linguistics and to specialists in Islamic jurisprudence and philosophy.

Offers an illuminating analysis of the relevant material ! Suleiman's book fills a gap in the study of the medieval Arab grammarians' writings ! a rich, penetrating and enlightening book by a scholar showing remarkable erudition in such divergent disciplines as Arabic grammar, Islamic jurisprudence and the philosophy of science. A valuable contribution to the study of the Arabic grammatical tradition in English. Such a valuable effort will surely familiarize Western scholars with a period of Arabic intellectual activity that is little known outside a small circle of specialists. A meticulous and informative study and a valuable contribution to the study of Arabic grammatical thinking, which in recent decades has received more scholarly attention than ever before. Suleiman's book is a notable achievement, and once again one sees that medieval Arab grammatical theory has great relevance for practitioners of modern linguistics. This book is an essential introduction to the field. It would be an essential text in any course that deals with this history of Arabic linguistics, and it can be recommended to anyone who wishes to become familiar with the theoretical framework and history of traditional Arab grammarians.  tihs is pictuers form india amitabh bachan So as expected ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ won well deserved Oscars in 8 categories including the Best Picture and Best Director (Danny Boyle) award. I had the pleasure of watching Slumdog about 2 months ago and had the most exuberant cinematic experience ever. Since then I have been recommending friends and family members to watch this awesome film and collecting gratitude’s in return

Though the film was shot in India, has an Indian cast with background scores of AR RAHMAN and lyrics of Gulzar Sahab, but Slumdog is basically a British film of director Danny Boyle along with his non Indian crew. For Anil Kapoor fans this film is a treat as he perfectly impersonated the role of a Superstar cum Game Show host, who not only discourages our slum boy Jamal but tries to deceive him from winning the million dollar price. This role was previously offered to King Khan SRK but probably the short length and negativity of the role stopped him from playing the part in this film which later on became the most talked about film of the year.
Slumdog faced its share of controversy when Mr. Amitabh bachan in his blog , slams the Oscar winner by saying:
“If ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ projects India as Third World dirty underbelly developing nation and causes pain and disgust among nationalists and patriots, let it be known that a murky underbelly exists and thrives even in the most developed nations,” he posted.
There is hardly any movie at the Academy Awards that truly deserve the best picture of the year award but in the recent history Slumdog Millionaire and Crash are two such movies that deserve all the appreciation and awards for the originality of the plot and brilliance of its cinematic attributes.
